Lucky Air, which is traditionally based in Kunming, has set up a new base in Zhengzhou, the capital of China’s Henan province.
The carrier will initially base three single-aisle aircraft at Zhengzhou’s Xinzheng International Airport, but plans to increase this to 20 aircraft in the coming years.
These will include twin-aisle Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, enabling it to launch long-haul flights from the city.
Lucky Air will become the fourth carrier with a base in Zhengzhou, following China Southern, West Air and Donghai Airlines. Zhengzhou becomes Lucky Air’s fourth Chinese base, after Kunming, Lijiang and Chengdu.
