Lufthansa will provide a further boost to Thailand’s inbound tourism market this winter, with the deployment of its largest airline, the Airbus A380, on the Frankfurt-Bangkok route.
Effective 29 October 2017, Lufthansa will operate daily A380 flights to the Thai capital, replacing the Boeing 747-400 that currently serves the route. This will lead to a capacity increase of more than 35% for the Thai winter peak holiday season, running until March 2018.
“The Airbus A380… is comfortable, spacious and quiet, which makes it perfect for long-haul flights like services between Bangkok and Frankfurt,” said Dirk Grossmann, Lufthansa’s general manager of passenger sales for Thailand and the Mekong Region.
“The air humidification system in our first class cabin – first of its kind on a commercial aircraft – brings up the humidity level up to 25% to increase well-being of customers onboard. Also the lighting concept that adjusts according to time of the day, also contribute towards customers’ comfort.”
Lufthansa’s A380 can carry a total of 509 passengers in all four of the airline’s cabin options, including eight seats in first class, 78 in business class, 52 in premium economy and 371 in economy. All passengers are offered in-flight Wi-Fi using Lufthansa’s FlyNet broadband service.
The Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings, now operates 24 weekly flights to Thailand.
