Lufthansa has announced an increase in capacity on flights from the UK and Ireland to cities in Germany this summer.
Customer demand has driven the German airline to add larger aircraft and increased frequencies on its Heathrow to Frankfurt route, which will be operated by Airbus A320 and A321.
The airline has also adjusted its timetable for the 12 daily Heathrow services in both directions, running hourly on the half hour from London and on the hour from Frankfurt.
Lufthansa will also open a new lounge at Heathrow’s new Terminal 2 when it moves to the new Star Alliance terminal in early October. The new lounge will be the airline’s largest outside of Germany and will cover 1,600 square-metres.
Outside of London the airline has increased its Glasgow to Dusseldorf service to a daily operation, while Dublin to Munich will move to four flights a week from April and a fifth in July and August.
Its Aberdeen, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh flights have also seen a boost in capacity of 23%, 11%, 8% and 7% respectively in the summer.
