Maharashtra Tourism to participate at ITB Berlin 2016

Maharashtra Tourism will be participating at ITB Berlin 2016 which gets underway today.

Ram Shinde, State Tourism Minister, Valsa Nair-Singh, Maharashtra’s Principal Secretary of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, and Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia, managing director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) will represent the state at the world’s largest travel trade show.

“Tourism is a booming industry in India and also an integral part in the development of the economy. We are delighted to have associated with ITB Berlin once again,” said Nair-Singh.

ITB Berlin welcomes around 10,000 exhibitors from more than 180 countries and regions every year.

MTDC, with an exhibition space of 86m², will promote Maharashtra’s tourism sector while co-exhibitors will focus on individual sectors such as bird-watching, jungle tours, leisure and wellness, jeep safaris, trekking tours, heritage walks.

Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia commented; “MTDC has consistently participated at this annual gathering of the best minds present in the tourism fraternity. We look at this as an opportunity to promote Maharashtra Tourism internationally and encourage tourists to visit the spectacular and diverse state.”

ITB Berlin 2016 runs from 9-13 March.
