Mantra Group has been appointed to manage a new resort on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula.
Located 160km from Adelaide, the upscale Wallaroo Shores Resort is expected to open later this year. It will form part of a major AU$220 million (US$161m) development which will transform 18.5 hectares of beachfront land into an entertainment and MICE complex.
The complex will include a two-storey venue for meetings and events, a cinema, convenience store and café.
“We’re thrilled that Mantra has come on board to manage our first-class resort,” said Alex Paior, CEO of Monopoly Property Group, which is developing the complex. “We believe the Mantra brand will be the very best fit in helping us deliver high-end accommodation that’s overdue on the vibrant Copper Coast.”
Mantra currently operates several hotels in Adelaide, including Mantra on Frome, Mantra Hindmarsh Square and Peppers Waymouth Hotel, but Wallaroo Shores Resort will become the company’s first property in regional South Australia.
“We are very confident that the resort will complement our existing high-performing Adelaide city portfolio and that it will quickly become a popular escape of choice away from the city,” said Mantra’s CEO, Bob East.
