A new luxury resort has opened on the banks of the Ping River in the city of Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.
The Chiang Mai Riverside is a Lanna (northern Thai)-inspired all-suite property that will be owned and operated by the Vorrawut Group. It features just 14 suites, including one- and two-bedroom units and a penthouse, all featuring Apple entertainment systems, 24-hour butler service and garden areas.
Teerawut Chanyasak, CEO of the Vorrawut Group, said he wanted to “create something Chiang Mai has not seen before”.
“That is, a gracious, stately all-suite hotel with refinement and sophistication at every turn, the sort of private butler service you would expect from a grand old European hotel, and a service connecting guests to the most authentic and fascinating experiences in and around our charming ‘Rose of the North’,” he revealed.
Amenities at the hotel include a swimming pool set in landscaped gardens, a fitness centre with personal trainers, and personal concierge service to offer guests an insight into the “real” Chiang Mai.
The resort’s chef also serves daily menus of organic Thai or French cuisine, which can be customised to suit the guest. Meals can be served in the suite or garden.
“We are a little different.” said the Chiang Mai Riverside’s general manager, Axel de Boynes. “Our room count is small, but we feel our intimacy is unmatched. Our privileges and perks are considerable, but our priority is personalised service and the human touch.
“Above all, we offer space. Space for guests to spread their wings and relax into their escape, the better to savour the elegant, Lanna-inspired accents and creature comforts of our hotel residence,” he added.
