New World Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to manage its first hotel in Guangzhou.
Scheduled to open in 2018, the New World Guangzhou Hotel will be located in the city’s Baiyun district, just 20 minutes’ drive from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
It will form part of mixed-use development comprising offices, serviced apartments and a shopping centre, which will be linked directly to Jiahe Wanggang subway station.
The hotel itself will feature 279 rooms and suites with a minimum size of 45m². Facilities will include four F&B outlets, a gym, spa and a rooftop outdoor pool. It will also offer comprehensive MICE facilities with 2,800m² of floorspace including a ballroom, meeting rooms, an outdoor event lawn and a bridal suite.
New World currently operates 10 hotels, including seven in Greater China. And its expansion will continue in the coming years with plans to open new properties in Langfang (2016), Qingyuan (2017), Shenyang (2017), Zhengzhou (2017) and Foshan (2018).
“Combined with our existing locations in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai, the addition of New World Guangzhou Hotel will be a key next step in solidifying our foothold in major China gateways,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group, the parent company of New World Hotels.
Outside China, New World is planning to open hotels in Bali (2017), Petalingjaya (2017), Kota Kinabalu (2018) and Bangkok (2018).
