Rosewood Hotel Group has unveiled plans to launch its first New World hotel in Bangkok.
Scheduled to open in mid-2017, the New World Grand Rama 9 Bangkok Hotel will be located in the nine-tower Grand Rama 9 mixed-use development, just off Ratchadapisek Road.
Once open, the hotel will feature 285 rooms and suites, including Residence Club floors, plus a range of F&B outlets and a rooftop pool bar. Other facilities will include a rooftop outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre, plus four meeting rooms and a grand ballroom.
“Bangkok represents an important strategic expansion for us in Asia and we are very pleased to partner with [hotel developer] Grand Canal Land to showcase our modern Oriental hospitality in… the Thai capital,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group.
The new Bangkok hotel will join New World’s existing portfolio of upscale hotels in Hong Kong, Beijing, Dalian, Guiyang, Shanghai, Wuhan, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila. But the company has significant expansion plans, with a target of 30 hotels in operation by 2020.
