New West End shows are expected to out-sell the ‘old favourites’ at the start of this year, Encore Tickets has predicted.

Based on booking patterns so fast, the ticket aggregator expects Viva Forever, The Bodyguard and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be amongst the favourites in the first quarter of 2013.

Encore expects more overseas visitors than ever after many avoided London due to the Olympics in summer 2012.

“Group travel organisers are telling us there is pent-up demand for many of the newest West End shows, as well as for a lot of the old favourites. We can see this from our own booking patterns which showed a definite upturn after the Olympics and we believe this will be carried over in 2013,” said Chris Rowney, UK sales manager at Encore.

As well as domestic sales the group is expanding internationally, with its FIT guide now available in six languages and a new affiliate programme available for ecommerce operators.
