Destination NSW has formed a new marketing partnership with Hainan Airlines.
Coinciding with the launch of the Chinese airline’s new direct flights from Changsha and Xi’an and Sydney, the Australian state tourism board will now work with Hainan Airlines in an effort to attract more Chinese visitors to New South Wales.
“Tourists from China are voting with their feet, coming to NSW in ever larger numbers,” said NSW’s Minister for Trade, Tourism & Major Events, Stuart Ayres.
“Investing in new aviation services is proving to increase visitation from second and third tier cities and make travel from other major Chinese cities to Sydney and Regional NSW more accessible than ever. Changsha and Xi’an are hugely important growth markets for NSW and now more tourists will learn about the direct way to get to Sydney and enjoy this great state,” he added.
The new promotional partnership will see Hainan Airlines help push NSW’s visitor attractions in these two Chinese markets. This, in turn, will help the airline fill the 52,000 seats it offers between China and Sydney each year.
Hainan Airlines becomes the first airline to connect Sydney with Changsha and Xi’an.
