Oman Air has praised the “vital work” of travel agents at a ceremony held recently at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Muscat, Oman.
Chief executive officer Oman Air, Paul Gregorowitsch and chief operations officer Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy hosted the event on behalf of the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman.
Gregorowitsch said travel agents in the Sultanate “play a vital role in promoting both Oman Air and the Sultanate of Oman to visitors around the world”.
“Furthermore, they offer invaluable support for Oman Air by encouraging Omani air travellers to book with their national airline.”
Al-Busaidy added that as Oman Air’s fleet grows, “we are able to launch more routes”.
“Since December 2014, we have unveiled services to Manila, Jakarta, Goa and Singapore, and more will follow later this year,” he said.
“Travel agents have been invaluable in achieving a high level of bookings to these destinations, as I am sure they will for future services when they are announced.”
Winners from both Muscat and Salalah were recognised at the Oman Travel Agents Awards 2014.
