In an effort to boost its Omanisation programme, Oman Air is expanding opportunities for Omani nationals to become pilots.
The airline has begun accepting applications from graduates with no prior flight training, as well as those with experience. The programme cost will be covered 100% by Oman Air. They will undergo their initial flight training in an approved training organization selected by the airline, followed by a type rated course on completion of their initial flight training.
Captain Moosa Al Shidhani, acting chief officer flight operations at Oman Air said: “We are delighted to be expanding the pilot recruitment programme. This step builds on our continuing recruitment programme, which has resulted in a huge number of applications.”
He further added: “As the airline continues its ambitious programme of fleet and network expansion, we look forward to many more Omani Cadet Pilots and Ab Initio Pilots.”
Recruitment in advance of individual training programmes will be announced in the local media. Prospective candidates will be invited to apply at that time.
