Two of the tyres on an Oman Air aircraft burst while the jet was landing at Delhi Airport this week.

The Boeing 737 aircraft was arriving at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport following a flight from Muscat when the incident occurred. All 143 passengers and six crew members disembarked safely and no injuries were reported.

But the incident caused the return Delhi-Muscat flight to be delayed by seven hours, due to repair work that needed to be carried out.

In a statement, Oman Air said it “regrets the inconvenience” caused to passengers and thanked its crew members for their “professionalism, quick thinking and concern for passenger well-being”.
