Oman Air touches down in Dhaka

Oman Air’s inaugural flight to Dhaka touched down on Sunday 25 October.

The new route will initially operate four times a week, every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, direct from Muscat. But Oman Air will ramp up the frequency of the route to six weekly flights from 1 December, with the addition of new Monday and Wednesday departures.

Dhaka becomes the airline’s second destination in Bangladesh, after Chittagong, which it serves daily.

“Oman Air is very happy to start its second destination in Bangladesh, to the capital city of Dhaka,” said Oman Air’s chief operating officer, Abdulrahman Al Busaidy. “Flights between Muscat and Dhaka mark a significant milestone in enhancing trade, manpower, tourism and cultural exchanges between Oman and Bangladesh.

“A large number of Bangladeshis work in Oman and the connectivity offered by the new service will provide easy and convenient travel to their home country. We are sure the new service will be well received by the Bangladeshi expatriates resident in Oman, as well as by those residing in Dhaka.”

Oman Air will operate the new route using a twin-aisle Airbus A330-300 aircraft configured with 26 seats in business class and 204 in economy.
