oneworld alliance partners Qantas, Cathay Pacific and BA have unveiled their new joint lounge at Los Angeles International Airport.
The new Los Angeles Business Lounge will initially be able to accommodate 400 passengers, but will be expanded in phases from between now and early 2015, and will eventually be able to handle 600 guests.
The lounge offers dining areas, a buffet and bar, plus free Wi-Fi, computer workstations and 16 shower units.
“The new Los Angeles Business Lounge is proof of our ongoing investment in our product to ensure we provide the best travel experience possible for our customers when they are on the ground and in the air,” said Qantas International’s CEO, Simon Hickey.
“As well as an overall upgrade, we’ve significantly increased the amount of space in the lounge for our premium customers. It’s designed to reflect the culture of California, while providing a place to relax, socialise and work before their flight.”
F&B options include a series of pop-up dining concepts designed to replicate Californian food carts. Qantas has also partnered Sofitel to offer a range of luxury hotel-style services for its top passengers, including shirt pressing, shoe shining and priority access to showers.
In addition to the new lounge, Qantas is planning to open a new first class lounge at LAX, accommodating more than 200 passengers.
