oneworld partners Qantas, Cathay Pacific and BA have completed a major upgrade of their lounges at Los Angeles International Airport, tripling the amount of space offered to passengers.
The three carriers this week unveiled the final stage of the Los Angeles Business Lounge refurbishment. This follows the opening of the first stage of the facility in June 2014 and the launch of the adjacent Qantas First Lounge in December 2014.
“The completion of this project represents our significant investment in the US market. We have tripled the space available across both lounges, added more seating and installed a state-of-the-art kitchen,” said Vanessa Hudson, Qantas’ regional general manager for the Americas
“Together with Los Angeles International Airport’s renovations, Qantas now offers truly world class facilities for international travellers and our lounges in the US are second to none.”
Qantas, Cathay Pacific and BA passengers will now be offered 800 seats (600 in the Business Lounge and 200 in the Qantas First Lounge) across 3,900m² of floor space.
Facilities at the new Business Lounge include a dining area equipped with USB ports and power outlets, two buffet stations, a Californian food cart, cocktail bar, a communal fireplace, 16 shower rooms, six Apple iMac work stations equipped and a children’s area with toys and games.
The lounge will be available to premium oneworld passengers and qualifying frequent fliers.
