UK-based travel technology specialist Open Destinations’ continued growth has seen the recruitment of two new travel industry experts with backgrounds in the tour operator, airline and GDS sectors.
Industry veteran Manuel Mascarenhas has been appointed director of Business Development – Business Process Outsourcing, where he will be responsible for driving support services for tour operators, such as contract loading, fare auditing and finance processes. He brings more than 37 years of travel experience, including senior roles with British Airways, Thomson Holidays, Thomas Cook Signature and Kuoni.
Mascarenhas is well known to Open Destinations, having been a client as managing director at Wendy Wu Tours. “I’ve worked closely with the Open Destinations teams in both London and India and I have a deep understanding of their back office processes,” said Mascarenhas. “The business process team in Goa is already bringing genuine value to travel businesses with incredible customer satisfaction and I’m looking forward to bringing those professional services to a wider market.”
Also new to the sales team is Mark Donahue, who joins as senior business development manager with particular focus on the company’s latest SaaS product, Travel Builder. Prior to joining Open Destinations, Donahue spent more than 13 years with Amadeus in its European and Chicago offices, consulting with a wide variety of leisure and business clients that included Air France, Finnair and Portman Travel.
