Outrigger Enterprises Group has opened a new sales and marketing office in Dubai.

The resort company will be represented in the Middle East by Gulf Reps, which will be responsible for driving regional business to its portfolio of nine Outrigger Resorts across the Indian Ocean and Asia Pacific.

“Gulf Reps have been high level regional hospitality representation experts since 2006 in the Middle East’s key source markets,” said Mark Simmons, Outrigger Resorts’ vice president of sales & marketing for Asia Pacific & Indian Ocean. “They will offer key strategic and tactical input to help us build business and promote the Outrigger brand in a very dynamic region.”

Simmons added that the Middle East was a key market for Outrigger, especially following the openings of Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort in 2014 and the Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort in 2015. Both destinations have direct access from major Gulf carriers, as does Phuket, where Outrigger has two properties.

Also in Thailand, the Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort is also appealing to Middle East-based visitors, according to Simmons.

Globally, Outrigger Resorts attract high-end leisure guests, including families, couples, honeymooners and wedding parties.

Outrigger’s Dubai operations will be headed by Gulf Reps’ managing director, Sammy Musa, and senior account manager Francesca Monfero.
