Princess Cruises has announced that 2017 will see its longest ever Japan cruise season, with a total of 39 departures.

Guests can choose to travel around Japan itself, or combine it with other countries including South Korea, Taiwan, Russia, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

The increase in sailings reflects the fact that Asia is now the second most popular destination for Princess Cruises’ UK customers.

The voyages range from five to 17 nights and sail between April and November. All cruises are on the 2,700-guest Diamond Princess, which will offer views of famous landmarks such as Mount Fuji and the abandoned Hashima Island, used as the setting for films including Skyfall.

Tony Roberts, vice president, Princess Cruises UK, said: “The extended season will give more choice not only for those wishing to visit the region for the first time but also those revisiting and looking for something different.”
