Today saw the launch of ‘Make a Difference’, a brand new project from Radisson Hotel Group, with the goal of raising funds for the education of underprivileged children in APAC.
Working in conjunction with charity SOS Children’s Villages International, ‘Make a Difference’ will see participating hotels donate USD 1.00 per night booked under the initiative’s banner.
“A better and brighter future for underprivileged children”
Founded by Austrian Hermann Gmeiner in 1949, SOS Children’s Villages International was conceived to help build families for children in need, to help them shape their own futures and to share in the development of their communities across the globe.
Each donation from Radisson will sponsor a child’s education, providing a future for them. This includes offering the children a potential job at one of Radisson Hotel Group’s properties upon completion of their education.
To further encourage donations and raise awareness of the cause guests can benefit from 15% off “Best Available Rates” on included room types and Radisson Rewards members will receive an extra five % off and earn 1,000 bonus points per booking.
Katerina Giannouka, president of Asia Pacific at Radisson Hotel Group said: “We are delighted to collaborate with SOS Children’s Villages on the ‘Make a Difference’ campaign. We care passionately about people within and beyond the walls of our hotels.
This campaign demonstrates our commitment to building a better and brighter future for underprivileged children through education. We also provide them an opportunity of working with Radisson Hotel Group upon completion of their studies.”
SOS Children’s Villages International is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit international development organization working to meet the needs and protect children’s interests and rights around the world.
Saurabh Prakash, vice president of commercial in Asia Pacific, at Radisson Hotel Group, added: “We are happy to support SOS Children’s Villages as part of our company’s Responsible Business efforts. This project will enable our guests to contribute to society and various communities in Asia Pacific.”
