Scott Blume, Raja Kamar’s recently-appointed Group CEO
PT Raja Kamar International, Indonesia’s recently formed hotel distribution company, has acquired 100% of MG Holiday, a leading Indonesian hotel wholesaler. The deal will offer Raja Kamar access to more than 1,800 Indonesian hotels.
“This transaction will bring considerable benefits to the Raja Kamar International group, including direct access to MG Holiday’s extensive hotel inventory across Indonesia,” said Scott Blume (pictured above), Group CEO of Raja Kamar International.
“This direct access to over 1,800 hotels will allow the combined Raja Kamar group to work closely with hotels across the existing wholesale channel and bring hotel partners access to new customers via Indonesia’s home grown specialist hotel website, Rajakamar.com,” Blume added.
While the financial details of the transaction were not available, Blume told Travel Daily that shareholders will invest more than US$20 million in the business over the next five years. The founders and shareholders of MG Holiday, Eddy Yeo and Raymond, will become shareholders of Raja Kamar International Group and will continue to hold key executive positions with the combined group, working with the recently-appointed Blume.
“Raymond and I are delighted to be joining forces with three of Indonesia’s premier travel groups, under a single corporate structure and vision, and we are very confident that we will be a major driving force in hotel distribution in Indonesia and nearby Asian markets in the future. It is a very exciting time for the Raja Kamar Group, our hotel partners and our employees,” commented Yeo.
Today, MG Holiday produces more than 700,000 room nights a year in Indonesia and has experienced in excess of 20% year-on-year revenue growth for the last three years. It currently operates six offices across Indonesia with more than 260 staff members.
