RAK gets its first Waldorf Astoria

The Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah is set to commence operations during the first quarter of 2013. It will be the first of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts in the UAE and part of Al Hamra Village.

The Waldorf Astoria will boast 349 rooms, access to a private beach, three outdoor swimming pools and a choice of eight restaurants and lounges.

The Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah is being developed by Al Hamra Group and will be managed by Hilton Worldwide. Al Hamra Village, the master planned development,  has 1,000 villas and townhouses, 2,500 residential apartments, two hotels, three resorts, an 18 hole golf course, clubhouse, a marina and a shopping mall all within a safe and secure community.

Benoy Kurien, general manager of Al Hamra Group said: “Al Hamra Village brings a complete lifestyle experience to residents and visitors. This is a positive sign as it shows the keen interest from tourists worldwide.”

Adding further Mark Hawkes, Group Chief Financial Officer, Al Hamra Group said: “Al Hamra Group is working towards growth through business segmentation and expansion, and is extending its expertise in managing master-planned communities whilst simultaneously developing new competencies in the fields of hospitality and leisure.”
