Redefine|BDL Hotels has revealed in the year to August 2015, it saw an 11 per cent increase in meetings and event room hire as compared to the same period in 2014.
Stand-out successes for the group include Worcester Whitehouse, which saw meetings and event room hire quadruple for the first eight months of 2015 as compared to 2014. BEST WESTERN PLUS Epping Forest, Holiday Inn Express Earls Court and The Erskine Bridge Hotel and Spa saw business in the same area double, the company said.
Corporate meetings and other event bookings are benefitting from a range of initiatives introduced by Redefine|BDL Hotels, such as Crowne Plaza hotels within the portfolio becoming ‘Brain Friendly’, with meeting rooms kitted out according to a 22-point checklist.
This includes ionisers, ‘brain boosting’ snacks and calming furniture and décor – including plants that neutralise electromagnetic fields. Guests also have access to a ‘Stress Free Essentials’ box containing commonly forgotten items from portable phone chargers to emergency ties and tights.
Delegates can also enjoy pick-me-ups like muesli, flapjacks and fruit, as well as indulgent treats including American-style pancakes with maple syrup and Greek-style yoghurt, carrot cake and Eton mess, to keep them focused all day long.
John Stuart, chief operating officer for Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “We are delighted to see our hotels improving from one year to the next when it comes to meetings and events – and being recognised for their efforts with these prestigious accreditations.”
