Regent Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement for a new luxury hotel and residences in Jakarta.
Scheduled to open in 2018, the Regent Jakarta and Regent Residences Jakarta will mark the brand’s return to the Indonesian capital after a break of 10 years.
Forming part of the Mangkuluhur City mixed-use development, the new Regent Jakarta will include 54 rooms and 72 suites, plus three dining options, a spa, large swimming pool and fitness centre. It will also provide extensive meeting space including a grand ballroom.
The Regent Residences Jakarta meanwhile, will offer 87 three- to four-bedroom luxury apartments across 37 floors. There will also be one full-floor penthouse with private swimming pool.
“Jakarta is not just a part of our business development plan; this city is of tremendous sentimental value to Regent,” said Steven Pan, chairman of Regent Hotels & Resorts. “Regent started in Asia and once had a property in Jakarta. Therefore we are especially honoured and excited to bring the next generation of Regent back to this city.”
Regent currently operates Asian properties in Beijing, Phuket, Singapore and Taipei.
