Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans to launch its first luxury property in Siem Reap, the gateway to Cambodia’s Angkor temples.
Scheduled to open in 2019, the new Rosewood Siem Reap will be located in the centre of the city, 6km from the entrance to Angkor. The hotel is being developed by Vattanac Properties, which also owns the Rosewood Phnom Penh.
“We are delighted to anticipate our second property in Cambodia, providing the Rosewood customer a link between the charm of the capital and the culturally rich destination of Siem Reap,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. “We’re very grateful for the confidence of Vattanac properties to manage two such significant new properties in the country.”
The new luxury hotel will offer 135 rooms and suites and 15 standalone villas. All villas will feature private pools and terraces and the largest three-bedroom units will offer 280m2 of interior space. Villa guests will also have access to the Manor Club villa, a private lounge area.
Facilities at Rosewood Siem Reap will include five restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness centre, outdoor lap pool, children’s pool and play area, plus the 700m2 residential-style Pavilion for meetings and events.
Rosewood will make its Cambodian debut in 2016 with the launch of the 175-room Rosewood Phnom Penh, which will occupy the top 14 floors of the 39-storey Vattanac Capital Tower One – the tallest building in the capital.
The Siem Reap hotel becomes the company’s ninth property in Asia.
