Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans to launch a new luxury hotel in Sanya.
The company has been appointed to manage the Rosewood Sanya – a new-build property which is scheduled to open 2017.
Located at Haitang Bay, on the south coast of Hainan Island, the property will be designed as an “exclusive sanctuary within [an] integrated resort”, next to the new International Finance Forum convention centre, which will become Sanya’s largest MICE facility when it launches in 2015.
“We are confident that the ultra-luxury Rosewood brand will create an attractive new hospitality experience in Sanya, appealing to the most discriminating leisure travellers and those whose business brings them to this increasingly sophisticated resort destination,” said Wang Jian, vice president of the resort’s developer, Poly Real Estate Company.
The new Rosewood hotel will occupy 14 floors of an oceanfront tower. Guests will be transported by express elevator to a private lobby with ocean views. There will be 229 rooms, approximately one-third of which will include plunge pools on the balcony, plus 61 residential villas set among a 16-hectare garden.
Facilities will include a 13th floor ‘sky pool’ overlooking the sea, plus a second pool which extends to the edge of the resort’s private beach. There will be five F&B outlets, including a beachfront restaurant and bar, plus a spa, fitness centre and a residential-style meeting space.
The Sanya resort will become the third Rosewood property in mainland China, following Rosewood Beijing, which is scheduled to open this spring, and Rosewood Chongqing, which will welcome its first guests in 2015.
