Royal Caribbean has announced that it will cease stopping in Turkey for the remainder of the 2017 due to security concerns.

In a statement, Royal Caribbean said: “We have replaced our current calls to Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey with visits to Kotor, Montenegro; and Rhodes, Mykonos, or Chania, Greece, due to the current unpredictability of the state of Turkey.

“Our decision-making process will always be driven by our concern for the safety of our guests and crew.

“Royal Caribbean International will continue to closely monitor the changing situation in Turkey and will remain hopeful that we will return to this popular port-of-call.”

It is unknown whether customers who purchased Royal Caribbean Shore Excursions for their stop in Ephesus (Kusadasi) will be refunded.
