Scoot has signed a new two-year marketing partnership with the government of New South Wales.
Under the tie-up, the Singaporean airline will undertake a series of marketing campaigns aimed at driving more visitors from Singapore to Sydney.
Scoot’s CEO Campbell Wilson signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Stuart Ayres, NSW’s Minister for Trade, Tourism & Major Events, in Singapore.
“It is fantastic to be in Singapore to sign this agreement that will continue the strategic partnership the NSW Government has enjoyed with Scoot over the past four years,” Ayres said. “Working with Scoot has allowed us to undertake multiple campaigns in Singapore which have increased visitation from this nation and I have no doubt this will continue with the new agreement we have signed today.
“The MoU reaffirms the NSW government’s ongoing commitment to creating even more opportunities for Destination NSW and Scoot to increase awareness of Sydney and NSW experiences and events for our visitors.”
In the year ending June 2015, NSW received 109,500 visitors from Singapore who stayed 1.5 million nights, an increase of over 19% over the previous year.
Sydney was Scoot’s first ever destination in June 2012 and it now serves the city daily using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
“Sydney, being the first destination ever served by Scoot, is very close to our heart,” said Wilson. “We are therefore delighted to extend our partnership with Destination NSW so that we can continue encouraging travellers to visit that wonderful part of the world – and, of course, to do so on the world’s first all-787 Dreamliner fleet.”
