Singapore has opened a new cable car attraction on the resort island of Sentosa.
The new Sentosa Line, which cost SG$78 million (US$57m) to build, will transport passengers from Merlion Plaza to Siloso Point, on the western tip of the island.
It will feature three stations, providing access to attractions including Resorts World Sentosa, Madame Tussauds Singapore, Images of Singapore, Skyline Luge Sentosa, Megazip Adventure Park, Wave House Sentosa and Underwater World Singapore.
“The new Sentosa Cable Car line will add great value to our guests riding on our Singapore Cable Car Sky Network,” said Mike Barclay, CEO of Sentosa Development Corporation. “It offers a serene ride over our beautiful island, while also greatly improving access between Merlion Plaza, Mount Imbiah and Siloso Point.
“We expect it will become the preferred mode of transport for our guests wishing to access the western tip of Siloso Beach, as well as the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Hotel, Underwater World Singapore and Fort Siloso. It is also a great complement to our walking trails on Mount Imbiah and Siloso Point,” he added.
It becomes the second cable car line on Sentosa, following the existing Mount Faber line. And a new Cable Car Sky Pass has also been launched offering unlimited rides on the network.
