Recent statistics from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) revealed that visitors from the Gulf generally spend more in Singapore than tourists from most Western and Asian countries. The Board also forecasted a 20% spike in Gulf visitors during the summer of 2012
Gulf residents are increasingly choosing Singapore, as their preferred destination for shopping, said a senior official at Singapore’s national tourism agency.
Mohamed Hafez, area director for the STB in the Middle East, said that he believed the upcoming Great Singapore Sale which kicks off later this month, and is a value driven shopping extravaganza, would appeal greatly to Gulf nationals, particularly in the run up to Eid Al Fitr celebrations taking place later in the summer season.”
The Great Singapore Sale will take place from May 25th until July 22nd, offerings a myriad of promotions, special hotel offerings, and late night shopping, dining and entertainment.
