As Covid-19 brought down the world to its knees, it is now time to get back to the ‘new normal’ and start doing business and network alongside. As Thailand opens up hotels and event spaces now, SO/ Bangkok is organising an innovative event to bring back some cheer into the lives of the travel industry professionals.

The hotel will host SO/ Happy Sharing Market Place at the Ballroom of SO/ Bangkok on 18 July. Scheduled from 10am to 6pm, the event is aimed at supporting industry friends, particularly travel agencies, DMCs and event organisers whose business has been impacted by COVID-19.

The hotel is offering a free venue to create a market place for any product, promotion whether from its company or staff product.

Juthamas Carranco or popularly known as Kwan, director of business development at SO/ Bangkok said: “The pandemic has affected the industry adversely and most of the agents have faced pay cuts. As the situation will take time to improve, this is our effort to show that we believe in them and would do everything we can to support them. The idea of the event is to connect our agents and travel fraternity once again. This market place is aimed at bringing them together to network and sell their own products so that they can earn some extra income to wade through the difficult times.”

The interesting USP about the event is that it will be conducted in both English and Thai to help get expats and Thai nationals on the same platform to engage, network and sell their own stuff.

“Our venue will be offered free of charge as a market place for our industry friends and colleagues if you are a travel agency, DMC or event organiser. One may sell or promote their personal or company products. The space is however, limited and so we offer this SO exciting opportunity on a first come first serve basis,” Kwan added.

Talking about safety standards for the event, Kwan said: “Of course, we need to make sure we care for each other and keep everyone SO safe. Hence, wearing mask, washing hands and keeping social distancing for safety will be of utmost importance.”

So what are you waiting for. Come, network and let your hair down amid some fun and frolic next week at the SO exciting event.
