SriLankan Airlines will start taking delivery of its brand new fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft this summer, and the national carrier has revealed the routes on which it is planning to deploy the new jets.
In July 2017, the airline will start operating the fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft on routes from Colombo to destinations in India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Four weekly flights to Hyderabad will commence on 12 July, followed by a weekly service to Visakhapatnam on 13 July. Then on 15 July three new daily A321neo services will launch, linking Colombo with Abu Dhabi, Delhi and Kochi.
On 16 July, the aircraft will start flying daily to Singapore, and finally on 18 July, Chennai will welcome a new weekly A321neo service.
SriLankan has ordered four A321neos – the largest version of Airbus’ new A320neo series.
