Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to open its first luxury St Regis hotel in Jakarta.

Scheduled to open in 2019, the St Regis Jakarta and The Residences at the St Regis Jakarta will form part of a new mixed-use development in the Kuninganin area of South Jakarta.

The St Regis Jakarta will offer 280 rooms and suites, plus four restaurants, the St Regis bar, a spa with six treatment rooms, a fitness centre and swimming pool. And for the MICE market there will be 3,600m² of conference and banqueting space.

The Residences at the St Regis Jakarta will feature three types of apartments: three-bedroom Sky Residences which measure up to 373m², the 750m² Sky Villas and 1,250m², four-bedroom Sky Palace. Resident facilities include a function room, wine room, private garden pool, lounge and fitness centre.

“Starwood is pleased to expand its portfolio of St Regis residences in Asia Pacific, as we see strong continued growth opportunities in this area,” said Rajit Sukumaran, Starwood’s senior vice president of acquisition & development for Asia Pacific. “The Residences at the St Regis Jakarta will cater to the lifestyle needs of the increasingly affluent and appeal to luxury property investors.”

Starwood currently operates 18 hotels in Indonesia, including one other St Regis located in Bali. It also plans to open 13 more hotels across the country in the next three years.
