Starwood Hotels & Resorts has continued to expand its Aloft brand in Indonesia with the signing of the Aloft Jakarta Simatupang.
The new property, which is scheduled to open in Q1 2020, becomes the fourth Aloft hotel in Starwood’s Indonesian pipeline and the third in Jakarta.
Located in South Jakarta, Aloft Jakarta Simatupang will offer 180 rooms and suites, all with free Wi-Fi. Facilities will include a restaurant, rooftop bar, and a “grab & go” snack bar, plus a swimming pool, fitness centre and more than 700m² of event space, including four meeting rooms, a ballroom and pre-function area.
“Indonesia’s hospitality sector has witnessed tremendous growth opportunities,” said Rajit Sukumaran, Starwood’s senior vice president of acquisitions & development for Asia Pacific.
“The high demand for accommodation facilities across all price points is bolstered by the country’s increasing position as one of Asia’s most popular tourist and business destinations. With our range of compelling and distinctive brands, including Aloft, we are confident to meet the growing demands of travellers.”
Aloft Jakarta Simatupang will join the 140-room Aloft Jakarta Kebon Jeruk and the 160-room Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim, which are scheduled to launch in September 2017 and December 2017 respectively.
These openings will continue the expansion of Starwood’s brands in the Indonesian capital following the launch of Southeast Asia’s first Tribute Portfolio Hotel, The Hermitage, in Jakarta last year, and the planned openings of the new Westin Jakarta in Q3 2016 and St Regis Jakarta in 2019.
