SWISS to adopt Amadeus systems

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has signed a new long-term deal with Amadeus that is set to overhaul its operating systems.
The new 10-year contract will see the carrier adopt the Amadeus Altéa system for its reservations, inventory management and departure control processes. This will put SWISS in line with its sister carrier, Lufthansa, and other Star Alliance members.
“We selected Amadeus’ Altéa Suite following an extensive and detailed evaluation of… solutions currently available on the market,” said Harry Hohmeister, CEO of SWISS.
“Altéa is the ideal choice for our needs, particularly as it has already been implemented by many of our partners. Moreover, Amadeus’ state-of-the art technology will empower us to provide an even more streamlined, effective service to our customers, enhancing the overall passenger experience within the LH Group, something we have long been committed to.”
SWISS’ migration to the Altéa reservation and inventory modules is scheduled for the beginning of 2016, with migration to the departure control systems to follow in mid-2016.
