Indonesia’s Tauzia Hotel Management has celebrated to completion of a new dual hotel project in Surabaya.
A ‘topping-out’ ceremony was held last week to mark the end of construction work on the 16-storey building that will house the midscale Harris Hotel and budget Pop Hotel Gubeng.
Opening in the third quarter of 2014, the two new properties will offer a combined total of 322 rooms in the Gubeng area of Indonesia’s second largest city. Facilities will include a spa, fitness centre, kids’ club, swimming pool, F&B outlets and extensive conference and banqueting space, including a ballroom.
“I am particularly pleased that our very first Harris and Pop Hotel is located in this prominent area of Surabaya,” said Christophe Glass, Brand director of Harris Hotels, “We believe our guests will enjoy the innovative Harris Hotels’ healthy lifestyle and… Pop Hotels’ eco-friendly concepts.”
Tauzia currently operates 13 Harris and seven Pop hotels across Indonesia, but plans to roll-out at least 60 new properties across the two brands by the end of 2015.
