Lion Air’s two overseas subsidiaries, Malaysia’s Malindo Air and Thailand’s Thai Lion Air, have signed a new interline agreement.
Effective this week, passengers can book a single combined e-ticket for Malindo and Thai Lion Air flights, enabling passengers to transfer between flights and have their baggage checked through to the final destination.
The move comes ahead of the launch of Thai Lion Air’s daily flights from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, which are due to commence on 18 December 2013.
“The agreement with Thai Lion Air will allow us to offer our passengers with better connectivity and flexibility throughout Thailand,” said Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Malindo Air.
“Thai Lion Air has numerous holiday destinations in Malindo Air’s network that their passengers can connect to, namely Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Langkawi, Penang, Kuala Terengganu, and even Bali and Jakarta.”
Thai Lion Air launched recently, initially operating flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. As well as KL, it will also fly to Jakarta.
