Thai Lion Air is aiming to enhance its travel trade sales by distributing its content via the GDS with Amadeus.
The Bangkok-based low-cost carrier is making its fares and inventory available to travel agents as it moves ahead with its international expansion plans. Thai Lion plans to launch services to Chengdu next month, following the addition of Yangon, Ho Chi Minh City and Guangzhou to its route map in 2016.
“There’s a growing demand for more affordable ways to fly to and within Thailand and Thai Lion Air is answering the call,” said Captain Darsito Hendroseputro, managing director of Thai Lion Air. “The domestic market is well aware of these options but the international market less so, and this is why our agreement with Amadeus is significant.
“Their ability to connect us with an unrivalled network of travel agents will put us in a strong position to effectively target the international market,” he added.
Thai Lion Air joins more than 480 airlines that sell their content via the Amadeus GDS, including more than 90 low-cost carriers.
