Thailand has been voted as the most popular hospitality investment market in Asia by industry and investment executives who attended the recent Asia Pacific Hotel Investment Conference (APHIC) in Bangkok.
The country topped the list, ahead of Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia Vietnam and the Philippines, following a survey conducted by Questex Hospitality Group during the conference, which was held at the Dusit Thani Bangkok.
And Chanin Donavanik, managing director & CEO of Dusit International, who delivered the conference’s keynote address, agreed that Thailand had become a compelling proposition for hotel investors.
“Without a doubt, the travel and tourism industry is growing throughout Asia with more and more travellers from the region and elsewhere moving around than ever,” Chanin said. “For Thailand to be regarded as an alluring investment option at the centre of all this activity is surely a sign of exciting times ahead.”
The two-day conference was attended by 300 delegates representing more than 100 hospitality companies, including hotel owners, investors, operators, developers, policymakers, designers, architects and master planners.
