Onyx Hospitality Group, the Thai hotel company that operates the Amari brand, has signed a new property in Hong Kong.

The signing of a management agreement for a project in the city’s Mongkok district will pave the way for the launch of Hong Kong’s first Mosaic Collection property. Located on Soy Street on the Kowloon Peninsula, the Hotel 108 will be set in a 24-storey property and will have 61 rooms, ranging in size from 13 to 30m².

The property is currently undergoing a renovation and the hotel is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.

“Onyx continues to spread its footprint beyond its established Thai roots and is committed to being a leading hospitality provider in the region. Hotel 108 is not only a key milestone for our ongoing growth, but also an expansion of our portfolio offering to visitors staying in Hong Kong,” said Simon Dell, Onyx’s vice president & area general manager for North Asia.

“We are confident that Hotel 108 will become the preferred accommodation option with international standards for guests who enjoy the bustling atmosphere of Mongkok.”

The Mosaic Collection is a series of properties managed by Onyx which allow the owners to keep their original brand. Another recent opening under this “soft brand” is the Chiva Residence Bangkok which launched on 1 February.

In Hong Kong, Onyx already operates four properties under its Shama serviced apartment brand and one midscale Ozo hotel.
