The Goring has become the only London member of Relais & Chateaux.
The Belgravia hotel has been admitted as the collection’s 2014 directory is launched detailing its 500-plus members.
“The Goring is the perfect fit for Relais & Châteaux and will be a flagship for our UK and Irish fleet: a luxury hotel in the heart of London, family owned and managed with charm, character and charisma, which remains quintessentially English,” said Malcolm Lewis, chairman of the UK Delegation for Relais & Chateaux and managing director of Longueville Manor in Jersey.
The Goring opened in 1910 and has remained as the only London hotel that is still run by the family that built it.
Most recently the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton stayed in the hotel the night before her marriage to Prince William.
