PAUL STEVENS has become CEO of Accor Plus, AccorHotels’ reward programme. He joined AccorHotels in 1997, holding several GM positions before leaving in 2004. He then returned as a GM and most recently served as VP of operations for midscale & economy brands, Upper Southeast Asia.
YUJI HIRAKO has been announced as the new president & CEO of All Nippon Airways (ANA), replacing Osamu Shinobe who becomes company chairman. The changes take effect on 1 April. Hiarko joined the Japanese airline in 1981 and currently serves as executive vice president.
PRACHOOM TANTIPRASERTSUK has become the new vice president of sales for Dusit International. She has worked for the Thai hotel group since 2015 as general manager of Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket Resort. Previously, Ms Prachoom worked for Peninsula, Four Seasons, IHG and Anantara.
MICHAEL LEONG has been named as Dusit International’s new vice president of marketing. The move marks a promotion for Leong, who previous served as assistant vice president of branding, loyalty & digital marketing. Prior to joining Dusit in 2015 he worked for Shangri-La.
MICHAEL SCHLUETER has been appointed general manager of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Bangkok. A Starwood veteran, Schlueter has spent 30 years working at hotels Europe and Asia. Most recently he was managing director of the Westin Langkawi Resort and St Regis Langkawi.
DENIS THOUVARD has been announced as the new general manager of Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui. A French national, Thouvard first joined Centara in 2009 as GM of the Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket. Most recently, he managed the Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas, Phuket.
CHRIS WAITE has been named as InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) new director of communications for a Australasia & Japan. He moves to the hotel group from Amadeus Asia Pacific, where he headed up the Bangkok-based communications team. He will now be based in Sydney.
AZRULE AZIZ has been appointed general manager of the Hotel Cosmo Kuala Lumpur. With more than 10 years of experience in Malaysia and in Indonesia, Aziz joins the hotel from the Dorsett Putrajaya, where he served as director of operations. He has also worked for Marriott.
NICOLAS AUGER has been named as the new director of sales & marketing at the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok. He joins the hotel with over 22 years of hospitality experience, most recently in Washington DC, looking after 14 Marriott hotels in Paris as US-based director of sales.
JOSEPH YAMDEE has been hired as the resident manager of the new Mövenpick Residences Ekkamai Bangkok, which is due open in March. Having been employed at hotels and serviced apartments in Bangkok since 1997, Yamdee has worked for several Citadines properties in the Thai capital.
