LILY CHENG has been appointed as TripAdvisor’s new president for Asia Pacific, based in Beijing. Ms Cheng joins TripAdvisor from Expedia, where she helped develop the company’s Asia Pacific expansion strategy. She has also worked with the Boston Consulting Group in Greater China.
MICHAEL A. CRAWFORD has been named as Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts’ new president for Asia Pacific. Crawford will relocate to Singapore from Shanghai, where he previously served as senior vice president and general manager of the Shanghai Disney Resort, and president of Walt Disney Holding Company in Shanghai.
SCOTT GARBER has been appointed as Oakwood Worldwide’s new director of supplier management. Garber has experience in multiple sectors, most recently as a business analyst and global account manager at serviced apartment company BridgeStreet, focusing on India, China, Japan and Southeast Asia.
ALAN DARR has joined Outrigger Enterprises Group as corporate director of human resources & support for the Asia Pacific region. Darr joins the Hawaiian hotelier from Artyzen Hospitality, where he worked as human resources consultant. He has also worked for Shangri-La Hotels.
JAMES ONG has been appointed general manager of Marco Polo’s three hotels in Hong Kong – Marco Polo Hongkong, Gateway Hotel and Prince Hotel. Ong is no stranger to Marco Polo, having previously served the company as area general manager for southern China, based in Shenzhen.
DON CASEY has been appointed as American Airlines’ new senior vice president of revenue management. The move marks a promotion for Casey, who previously served as the airline’s vice president of revenue management. He joined American in 2000 as managing director of capacity planning.
ANDREW ABRAM has been named as the general manager of Marco Polo’s first Niccolo Hotel, in Chengdu. Originally from Scotland, Abram has more than 20 years’ industry experience including 10 years of general manager roles with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Niccolo Chengdu will open in 2015.
FAUZY WAHAB has been named as the new hotel manager at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. With 20 years’ experience, Wahab joined the Starwood hotel in 2006 as director of catering & events and has worked his way up through the ranks. He previously worked at the former Regent Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
KUMIKO SHAFER has become Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s new director of global sales for North America. Now based in San Francisco, Ms Shafer joins Pan Pacific from Shangri-La Hotels, where she most recently served as director of business development. She has also worked with Nikko and Marriott.
BARTON JACKSON has become Outrigger Hotel Group’s new director of finance & analysis for Asia Pacific, based in Phuket. He arrives at the company with 19 years of experience with InterContinental Hotels Group, working in Australia, Vanuatu and Thailand.
SANJEEV TANDON has been appointed director of sales & marketing for the Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket. With 25 years’ experience, Tandon has experience in luxury hotels in India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Qatar, most recently as director of sales & marketing at the Movenpick Hotel Al Khobar.
JAN CONNY JOHANSSON has been announced as the resort manager of Cham’s House Koh Kood in Thailand, which is part of the Unique Collection. A Swedish national, Johansson joins the hotel from Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives, where he was executive assistant manager and F&B director.
