RICHARD BAKER has been appointed as Mandarin Oriental’s new Executive Vice President and Operations Director for Asia. Baker joined Mandarin Oriental in 2006 and will move to Hong Kong from the US, where he currently serves in the same role for the Americas region.
IRENE HOEK has been appointed Head of Global Development for the Dorchester Collection. Ms Hoek joins the luxury hotelier from IHG, where she held the position of Vice President of Development. She has also headed-up Starwood’s North American development division.
FRANZ MASCARENHAS has become the new Managing Director of The Langham Auckland. With 30 years of hotel experience, Mascarenhas returns to Auckland following recent spells in Shanghai and Hong Kong. He also managed the re-opening of the Park Hyatt Siem Reap in Cambodia.
CRAIG SYPHERS has been appointed as the new General Manager of the 276-room Parkroyal Melbourne Airport. A 30-year hospitality industry veteran, Syphers has spent last decade with Mirvac Hotels & Resorts and Carlton Hotel Group in Australia.
KEITA SEKINE has been named as Dusit International’s new Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Japan. With 15 years’ experience, Sekine joins Dusit from the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, where he was Director of Sales. He has also worked with Marriott International in Guam.
EMMA WOOD has been announced as Merlin Entertainments’ new Group Marketing Director. The appointment marks a new group-wide marketing role for the attraction operator. Ms Wood is currently Group Marketing Director for the Pizza Express restaurant chain.
