KARAM CHAND has been announced as the new chief executive officer of Royal Brunei Airlines, following the departure of Dermot Mannion. Chand moves into the top role from his current position as the airline’s chief commercial & planning officer. He has also worked for Virgin Australia.
GAVIN SMITH has been announced as Royal Caribbean Cruises’ new international senior vice president, overseeing the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara cruise brands. Smith previously oversaw the opening of the company’s first Australian office in 2008 as managing director.
CRAIG BOND has joined Oakwood Asia Pacific as the serviced apartment company’s new vice president of operations. He joins with more than 25 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industries, most recently serving as Pan Pacific’s area general manager for Oceania.
ANDREW TURNER has been named as the managing director of the new Rosewood Phuket, which is due to open the first quarter of 2017. An Australian national, Turner has 22 years’ experience at hotels in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and US. His GM roles have included Anantara resorts in Phuket and Sanya.
JUNI RAHARDJA has become Marco Polo Hotels’ new regional director of sales for Singapore. Ms Rahardja has 30 years’ experience in Singapore’s hospitality industry, including spells with Conrad and Hyatt. Most recently she was director of Hyatt’s regional sales office in Singapore.
RAJAN KARUPPANNAN has been named as the new food & beverage director at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in China. An Indian national, Karuppannan has spent the last 10 years living and working in China, including spells at Ritz Carlton and Hilton hotels in the country.
