ALEXANDRE DE JUNIAC has become the new director-general & CEO of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), succeeding Tony Tyler, the former Cathay Pacific CEO who held the role since 2011. A French national, de Juniac was formerly president & CEO of Air France-KLM.
MARK DARDENNE has been appointed chief operating office of the Jumeirah Group. Having spent more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, Dardenne joins Jumeirah from Patina Hotels & Resorts in Singapore where he was CEO. He also previously spent time as CEO at Emaar Hotels.
IGNACIO MARTIN has been named as Melia Hotels International’s senior regional director of operations for Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai. Martin moves to the company’s regional head office in Shanghai from Xi’an, where he was previously general manager of the Gran Melia Xi’an.
JOHN WADE has become executive vice president and chief operating officer of Gogo, the in-flight Wi-Fi provider. Wade has more than 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, most recently as chief technology officer at OnAir. He has also worked at Tenzing and GEC Marconi.
JEROME THIL has been named vice president of marketing for Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he joins at a key time for Sabre, ahead of the launch of its new agent solution, Sabre Red Workspace. Most recently he worked for Amadeus.
ADRIAN PRADO GARCIA has become the new general manager of the Gran Melia Xi’an. A Spanish national, he brings 16 years of hospitality experience to the role, in a career that has spanned more than 20 countries on four continents. He moves to Xi’an following a spell as cluster GM in Bali.
THUY TRANTHI RIEDER has become Rosewood Hotel Group’s new vice president of sales & marketing. With more than 20 years’ experience in luxury consumer brands, Ms Tranthi Rieder has worked for companies including Richemont Group and LVMH (Luis Vuitton Moet Hennessy).
WAYNE TARANTO will lead the new luxury hotel division of Australia’s Crown Group. The company’s first Skye Hotel Suites will open in Sydney in 2017. Taranto joins Crown having held senior roles with Amalgamated Holdings and AccorHotels, including a spell as GM of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.
MELIANA HALIM has become the Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) new manager for Oceania. Based in Sydney, Ms Halim will be tasked with managing the STB’s MICE portfolio. She brings more than 15 years of experience to the role, including spells with Warwick Hotels & Resorts and Air Pacific.
CHRISTIAN MOGNOL has become Millennium Hotels & Resorts’ new head of asset management and acquisitions for the UK & Europe. Mognol joins Millennium from SGG Group, a leading corporate administration and fund services group, where he was senior vice president.
