BUHDY BOK has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President for Pacific Asia & China with Italian cruise company, Costa Crociere. Bok, who spent 15 years with Singapore Airlines, was appointed as Costa’s Vice President for China in May 2011, but his role has now been expanded.
AMBER MARIE BEARD has been appointed as Six Senses’ new Vice President of Sustainability. A US national, Ms Beard started her career in Boston before travelling to Hong Kong to work with China Resources, working on sustainable development projects.
ED CASE has been named as the new Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President of Outrigger Enterprises Group. Case has a 28-year legal background, most recently as an attorney with Bays, Lung, Rose & Holma, focusing on real property transactions.
RICHARD SCHESTAK has been announced as the new General Manager of the Raffles Jakarta. An Austrian national, Schestak has 21 years’ experience including spells with Fairmont in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He previously served as GM of the Raffles Hotel Le Royal Phnom Penh.
PIETER VAN DER HOEVEN has become the new General Manager of the Raffles Hotel Le Royal Phnom Penh. He joins the Cambodian hotel following a stint with Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, where he worked as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Asia Pacific.
MATTHEW TAVERNER has been announced as the new General Manager of Qualia, the resort on Australia’s Hamilton Island. A 28-year hotel industry veteran, Taverner arrives at the hotel having previously worked in Fiji, the Seychelles, Zambia, Indonesia and Hong Kong.
HEIKO DIETZ has become Focus Asia’s new General Manager for Cambodia. A German national, Dietz arrives at the tour operator following many years in the travel industry. His career started at Reiseland American Express and Bawa Tours in southern Bavaria.
MARLENE FANG has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing at The Langham Xintiandi and 88 Xintiandi Boutique Hotel in Shanghai. Originally from Singapore, Ms Fang brings a wealth of experience to the role, including spells in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
NENDEN RUKASAH has been announced as the new Director of Sales & Marketing for the Sofitel Plaza Hanoi. An Indonesian national, she joins the hotel following spells with several hotel chains, including Swiss-Belhotel, Archipelago, Marriott, Starwood and Mandarin Oriental.
MAX HUBER has become the Sofitel Plaza Hanoi’s new Director of Food & Beverage. A Swiss national with 26 years of experience, Huber moves to Vietnam from Thailand, where he spent time at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group and the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok.
BERNHARD BUTZ has been named as the new Executive Chef of the Ayana Resort & Spa, Bali. A German national, Chef Bernard has more than 25 years of culinary experience, including spells at top hotels in Europe and Asia. He most recently worked for Shangri-La in China.
SUPHOT SAMSANG has been appointed Executive Chef at the 137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai. Chef Suphot will now oversee operations at the 30-suiite property’s Palette Restaurant. His experience includes time at The Oriental Hotel Bangkok and Four Seasons Chiang Mai.
