DECIUS VALMORBIDA has been named as the new head of distribution marketing at Amadeus. A Brazilian national, Valmorbida, who most recently served as the company’s head in Latin America, will now relocate to the group’s global headquarters in Madrid. He has 20 years’ experience.

LINDY ANDREWS has been promoted to the role of chief executive officer of luxury travel event, Luxperience. Andrews, who was formerly the event’s director of sales & partner alliances, takes over the top job from Luxperience’s founder, Helen Logas. Luxperience takes place annually in Sydney.

DIDIER GOURMAND has been announced as the new general manager of the Eastin Hotel Makkasan Bangkok. A French national, Gourmand has more than 30 years’ experience including a spell with IHG in the Middle East. Prior to his new appointment he was GM at the U Agathis Pecatu Bali.

JULIA GAJCAK has been named as the new vice president of marketing & communications for Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas. Prior to joining Six Senses, Ms Gajcak served as vice president of corporate communications & global marketing for India’s The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts.

HANSJOERG KUNZE has been appointed as Costa Crociere’s new vice president of communications & sustainability. Starting this week, Kunze brings nine years of cruise industry experience to the new role, having most recently served as vice president of PR & communication at AIDA Cruises.

EMMA FRASER has become the new group director of marketing for Toga Hotels in Australia. Ms Fraser arrives at Toga with wealth of international experience, including spells with groups such as Carlson Rezidor, Raffles, Jumeirah and Starwood. She is a British national with Australian citizenship.

FREDERIC CHRETIEN has become the new general manager of the Outrigger Mauritius Resort & Spa, which is scheduled to open in December 2013. A French and Mauritian national, Chretien has 30 years’ experience in hotel and F&B operations, most recently as GM of The Residence Mauritius.
