RUPERT HOGG has been appointed chief operating officer of Cathay Pacific Airways. The move marks a promotion for Hogg, who is currently the airline’s director of sales & marketing – a role he took up in August 2010. He previously spent two years as Cathay’s director of cargo.
BO WU has been announced as the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) new regional director for China, effective 30 December 2013. Wu joins PATA from the State of Hawaii Office in Beijing, where he served as executive director. He also spent 10 years at the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).
ARJAN DE BOER has been appointed as Regent Hotels & Resorts’ new senior vice president of development & technical services. A Dutch national, de Boer joins Regent following a near 11-year stint with Alila Hotels & Resorts, where he worked on several new hotel development projects.
HEINRICH GRAFE has become the new general manager of the Conrad Tokyo. A veteran hotelier, Grafe has spent 31 years with Hilton Worldwide, 23 of which have been spent in Asia. He moves to Tokyo having spent the last 15 years as general manager of the Conrad Centennial Singapore.
IAN EKERS has been appointed general manager at The Sukhothai Bangkok. A British national, Ekers has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, including spells with Hilton, Ritz-Carlton, Shangri-La and Pan Pacific. He has worked in Hawaii, Egypt, Singapore and Malaysia.
ALEXANDER HAEUSLER has been named general manager of the Mövenpick White Sand Beach Pattaya, which is due to open in the third quarter of 2014. An Austrian national, Haeusler has had spells with Regal and Starwood, and also spent five years as GM of Pattaya’s Royal Cliff Beach Resort.
ROGER HABERMACHER has been named general manager of the new Rimba Jimbaran – the sister hotel to the Ayana Resort & Spa Bali. A Swiss national, Habermacher brings 20 years’ experience to the role, including 16 years with Hyatt. Most recently, he was GM of the Park Hyatt Beijing.
LEMUEL HERBERT has become Oakwood Worldwide’s new area manager for Bengaluru, responsible for the operations of the Oakwood Premier Prestige Bangalore and Oakwood Residence Prestige Whitefield Bangalore. He has 27 years’ experience, including 14 years with The Park Hotels in India.
CHRISTINE BELAND has been announced as the new director of sales & marketing for the Bagan Lodge – Apple Tree Group’s 85-room property in Myanmar. Ms Béland most recently worked for two years as the sales & marketing manager of the Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa in Siem Reap.
AHMED TALAAT has been named as Dusit International’s new director of sales for the Middle East & Africa, based in Dubai. Talaat joins the Thai hotel company from Oman luxury resort, Six Senses Zighy Bay, where he was assistant director of sales. He has also worked with Hyatt and Mövenpick.
