Petra Roach has been appointed interim president and CEO at the Barbados Tourism Authority. Roach will take up the new role on Friday having been vice president of marketing and sales in the UK for the past 12 years. She is also a fellow of the ITT; a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and sits on the CTO board.
Neil Davies has been named head of travel trade at Bourne Leisure. Davies will combine his role as head of Haven commercial to take over the role, replacing Allan Lambert who left Bourne Leisure last month. Davies has more than 20 years of travel experience including 10 at Haven as well as time with Airtours, Cresta Holidays, EuroSites Self-Drive and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts.
Garry Brown has been appointed European cruise line sales manager at Amadeus. Brown will lead the technology company’s expansion in the cruise market within the UK and Europe, supporting partners and increasing awareness of its new booking tool. He joins Amadeus from Opodo Cruise and has also worked for Royal Caribbean, Carnival UK and Star Clippers.
Julie Cooper has joined the GTMC as membership manager. She joins the association with 16 years of travel management experience. Katharina Salewski has been appointed marketing manager at the guild while Sophie Turner is now administrative executive.
Juan Asin has been appointed general manager of the ME London. Asin has been with Meliá for six years and was previously GM of the Meliá Luxemburg and hotel manager of Meliá White House. He has also worked for Park Hyatt and Westin.
Nora Foreman has been named director of business development at the Hilton London Metropole. Foreman has more than 18 years’ experience in hospitality and was most recently regional director of revenue management for the Jumeriah Group.
Andrew McConnell has been named director of communications and public affairs at Flybe. McConnell has joined the airline from easyJet where he held a similar role, and has also worked for Heathrow Express and Gatwick Express.
Marcelo Molinari has been appointed head of MICE at Value Retail. In the new role, Molinari will implement the groups and events business across the Chic Outlet Shopping outlets. He was previously director of tourism in Spain for the outlets and has also worked for the Costa Del Sol Tourist Board, Cititravel and Hilton.
